It is possible that monogame is used for a scientific application

Hi, MonoGame is a powerfull framework for developing games, but It is possible that monogame is used for a scientific application?

Sort of a vague question. To what extent and why wouldn’t it be ?

I imagine you would need to use a big number project/helper though, just like you would in any other language.

As GPU Acceleration is not currently supported, probably a no, unless your task was smaller than cell level compute :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT

It pains me to have said that but what MonoGame loses out on, it easily makes up for in droves…

What do you mean “GPU Acceleration is not currently supported”? I’ve seen lots of nice 3D games in MG, and it has shader support, I’m not sure what’s missing.

OpenCL etc…OpenCL etc…

Opencl, cuda are well designed for that, and many frameworks are available to use them (cuda:npp nvgraph etc) and it will be easier to use your app on the cloud when you need more power
