Add Custom Importer in Pipeline.exe

How do I add a custom importer in Pipeline.exe? I saw a forum thread here saying I should add a reference to the Importer project in my content project but I don’t see any way in Pipeline.exe to add references.

I found some documentation here… I’ll work through it, this may solve my issue.
