Hi Everyone!
My name is Daniel, I am the developer of the small indie dev team, called Fairytales Games. I would like to show you the game and the small “engine” I have been working on for some months with a 2D artist friend of mine. We are using Visual Studio 2013 Express with Monogame 3.5 and TFS online for source and project controlling (haha, like a pro ).
The game is a music band manager simulation in which you play the role of a manager helping a band to become famous. Your task is to hire members, give them tasks (practice, write songs, record albums, play gigs, hold workshops, etc…), manage the office, buy instruments, complete small quests, and similar things.
This is not a real time strategy, it is a turn based game where one turn is divided into two parts: an active and a passive part. In the active part you will need to - if you would like to - play minigames to increase the efficiency of your members when recording a song, or playing a gig, and do everything that requires your actions. In the passive part you can set tasks for your members, visit the shop to customize them, arrange future events, and so on.
The “engine” is a code base that allows me to create simple 2D applications. It is not 100% independent of the game as it is also under development, but I managed to remove all the code references and only some logical reference remained, things like input control sizes, or animation/selection-related values. Due to limited free time, I only have some basic sound handling logic, but this part of the engine will be completely rewritten when the game reaches a “playable” state.
We are planning to release the game in early access mode as soon as possible through Steam Greenlight when we can present at least a playable demo to get useful feedbacks and to involve the audience in the development process.
Band Legend supports English and Hungarian languages at the moment, but we are planning to add Russian, Portuguese, French and German translations as well. The font file we are using contains hundreds of letters, maybe even Chinese as well, so the only real problem will be to find people who can translate the game into their own language. More or less…
We have a facebook page as well. Feel free to visit us and share your thoughts with us, so we can make a game that suits the gamers needs the best!

And finally, let me show you some of the screenshots from the game!
This is the main menu with the profile controls. You can create up to 6 different profiles.
This is your personal advisor’s first greeting message. He will guide you through the game as the tutorial will be part of the gameplay. The bear avatar is just a placeholder.
This is the band creator control, but we are planning to change it a bit, as it was not 100% straightforward for the first two persons watching this.
Finally, this is your starting office with the two available, but empty rooms (one for the rehearshal room and one for the studio), your starting money, fame and score.
I hope you all like my team’s work so far! Hope to see you on Steam!
