How to Handle Programmable Keys/Buttons

Is there any way to determine if a programmable key/button has been pressed on a gaming keyboard/mouse?
It would be really slick if players of my game could set their keybindings within my game with their gaming hardware.

Urm, I assume you mean Macro Keys? they can just do this using the specialised software that comes with their hardware… but if you mean within your applications… that’s a lot of standards to research and program for… look into how they make those devices and you may find the answer though.
