Monogame development in a VM

Has anyone had any experience doing monogame development in a virtual machine? I do most of my other work on a VM where I install all my development tools. This helps keep my main system clean. I know that virtualizing GPUs can be difficult, however, and I’m not sure about the graphical performance of monogame inside a VM. Has anyone done this successfully or have any advice on how I could?

I recommend using Vmware Player:

Oracle VirtualBox has some problems with rendering OpenGL stuff.

Have you tried in hyper-v at all? What process would I use to set up 3d rendering in vmware player?

I did not play with that setting in vmware, so if it was enabled by default, then yes.

Just install vmware guest addin and that is it.
