So I managed to get a MonoGame App to run inside an emulator. I am using the latest version of MonoGame which is 3.7.1 at the moment and I am targeting Android 10. I am using VS 2019 on Windows 10 at the moment.
Which are the steps I need to take from here? Do I have to sign the App first before I can run / install it on any Android phone? Also when I switch from Debug to Release I get a message with “Game1 keeps stopping” with the options “App Info” and “Close app”?
Edit: I think the error came from a missing content file. I added it and now everything runs fine inside the emulator in both Debug and Release.
I found out that a Keystore is needed and signing the app with it is necessary I guess. I am then able to save the signed apk file from Visual Studio 2019. But when I try to install the App on my phone it just tells me that the file or directory cannot be opened when I click install?
Is there an additional step needed to install a MonoGame app on a device?
