GamePad.SetVibration has two parameters to set the intensity of trigger rumble for controllers with trigger motors like the Xbox controller. Only, it doesn’t seem to work. I tried with two different gamepads known to support trigger rumble, including a first-party Xbox Series controller. The API parameter documentation says “Xbox One controller only,” so does that mean it literally only supports trigger rumble on first-party Xbox One controllers and not first-party Xbox Series controllers or third-party Xbox controllers with the feature, or is there something else I’m missing? This is with a Windows DX11 project; unsure if it would be any different for any of the other platforms.
Taking a look at the MG source, it would appear that the DirectX implementation doesn’t make use of the leftTrigger or rightTrigger values at all: MonoGame/MonoGame.Framework/Platform/Input/GamePad.XInput.cs at 9cce5c73ad5869a8abe54dad9ed201d0678fa8fe · MonoGame/MonoGame · GitHub
The SDL (DesktopGL) implementation seems to use them though.
Thanks. That’s unfortunate. Probably not worth switching over to GL just for that. Maybe it’ll be fixed in the DirectX 12 implementation, but that’s a WIP at the moment.
