So, according to this the plan is to add Metal support to MonoGame. This issue however, only talks about implementing it on iOS, which would suggests that OpenGL would still be used for MacOS. This would cause a few problems, as only version 4.1 is supported on Mac. That would mean, for example no support for compute shaders on Mac (according to this) as they were introduced in OpenGL 4.3 - which kinda sucks.
Am I understanding it correctly, or am I missing something?
